With our latest update to Hemlock, <strong>loan officers can customize how applications are reviewed, submitted, and managed<\/strong>, putting you fully in control of the borrower workflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s New: Customizable Loan Application Settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You now have the ability to determine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Whether clients can submit applications on their own<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Whether an LO review is optional or required before submission<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Who submits the final application: you or the borrower<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This means you can tailor the experience to each client\u2019s needs. Prefer a hands-on approach? Require your review before submission. Working with a more self-directed borrower? Let them submit on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Review Options Built for Flexibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the final step of the application, clients will now see two clear paths:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Request Loan Officer Review<\/strong>: Ideal for clients who want guidance on selecting a loan program or need help reviewing their inputs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit Application<\/strong>: For confident borrowers ready to move forward on their own.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Loan officers can also choose to <strong>submit the application on the client\u2019s behalf<\/strong> directly from Hemlock, no need to wait on the client to act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Control Submission Settings at the Broker or Client Level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now configure application permissions at two levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Broker-level default<\/strong>: Set your preferred default in Hemlock: allow or restrict client self-submission without review.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Client-specific overrides<\/strong>: Need a different workflow for a specific borrower? Override the default at the individual application level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This gives you a powerful mix of <strong>standardization and personalization<\/strong>, especially useful if your pipeline includes both seasoned buyers and first-timers who need more support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Better Tracking and Communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When a client requests a loan officer review, Hemlock will now capture and persist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The associated application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An optional client note<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Timestamps for the request and resolution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The status of the review (open\/closed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This ensures nothing falls through the cracks and keeps your team aligned on next
